While the Kia mid-size SUV excels in other major departments, it also packs in a lot of cabin space, thanks to its size. Therefore, the Kia Seltos is a very-well packed 5-Seater with more than enough room for the luggage of five people for a weekend outing. It’s also the most versatile car in this list, as Kia has ensured that there’s a Seltos for everyone, which means the availability of three engines and four gearbox options really widens the reach for the manufacturer making the Seltos an overall good all-rounder.
2. Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta, with the recently introduced E trim with the 1.5-litre petrol engine, is the most affordable car in this list. Since it shares its underpinnings with the Kia Seltos, the space inside it’s pretty great. However, Hyundai cars have gone to great lengths to make the Creta even spacious model than the Kia Seltos, and, as a result, it does look a bit more accommodating for three passengers at the back. It, too, shares its versatility with the Kia Seltos, but it comes with three gearbox options as opposed from the Kia’s four.
3. Honda City
The Honda City has been long known for offering the best cabin space in the mid-size segment for quite some time now, and the new fifth-generation model continues the legacy. And, more importantly, it still remains one of the nicer cars to drive in the segment, especially in the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and manual gearbox combination. On that note, the petrol model also comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox and also a 1.5-litre diesel engine paired to a 6-speed manual. 4. Tata Harrier
The Tata Harrier, while still being a mid-size SUV, is a size bigger than the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. And while that may translate to lower fuel efficiency numbers, it also translates to better space inside the cabin. Therefore, the Tata Harrier is a very well packaged 5-Seater with ample of space for five passengers inside the cabin. The only fly in the ointment here is the absence of a petrol engine, which makes the Harrier a diesel-only model. However, with a nice equipment list and a butch appeal, the Harrier makes for an excellent five-seater model.
5. MG Hector
Below the Rs. 20 Lakhs price bracket, the MG Hector outshines all its rivals in terms of sheer space inside the cabin. It is, by far, one of the most spacious and accommodating SUVs for the price. It also packs in tons of equipment along with a set of very capable engines. The entry-level 1.5-litre petrol engine comes with a manual, a manual-hybrid, and a manual-DCT setup. The 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is the same as the Harrier, however, only comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. But as far as space goes, five passengers wouldn’t have any issues settling inside the cabin of the MG cars.
